Marathon, black silhouettes of runners on the sunsetIt’s that time of the year!  Time to get out and get some fresh air and sunshine.  Time to MOVE!!!

Every May we do an At-Home Fitt Challenge where we join up with some friends, create a team and see how far we can move together!!  Most of us choose to build a running team; but if you have a group that wants to walk, or swim, or ride a bike… that works too!!!

Here is how it works!

1.) Build a team!  You can have any number of people on your team from 2-10!

2.)  As a team, decide if your miles will be be biking, swimming or running/walking.

3.) Set a team goal!  How many miles will your team travel between May 5th and May 31st?  (The best way to do this is for each person to set a weekly goal and then total up what your team is going after…)

4.) REGISTER and DECLARE!!  Each person on your team should register.  Each teammate pays the entry fee of $10 or purchases a CR7 (awesome fuel for your workouts).  All money will go back to the winners of the challenge.

Example of declaration on Facebook:

“We just joined the May #RightFitt At-Home Challenge and our team, the Queen Beez (i made that up), declare that WE WILL RUN 200 MILES THIS MONTH!!”

5.) As a bonus, map out your journey and add it to your story…. for example from my declaration above, you might say that you will run from Denver to Guernsey State Park (only b/c I love camping and it happens to be 200 miles away!… Then your declaration could look like this:

“We just joined the May #RightFitt At-Home Challenge and our team, the Queen Beez (i made that up), declare that WE WILL RUN 200 MILES THIS MONTH!!  We will travel from Denver to Guernsey Wy… We will keep you posted as we map ourselves throughout the month!”

6.)  CHECK IN to RightFitt on facebook with your daily logged miles and track together as a team.  Map it out for more fun!

7.) WIN!!!!  If you complete your goal – your team wins!!  It’s that simple!  We will check your check ins and make sure you accomplished your declaration!  The prize will vary depending on how many people complete the challenge!

8.) No Sand Bagging lol – When you register, we will ask what your teams’ average miles are now… if you are not stretching yourselves or upping your goals, we are going to call you out on it.  You need to be doing MORE than you usually do.  Some people might run 40 miles a week and others want to run 10 a week.  No problem…. as long as you set a goal that makes you GROW!
